Keyed up

Belying his relentlessly unorthodox theological leanings, as a boy Leon Fullerton filled in on organ occasionally at his father's Baptist church. Though he never learned much beyond three-finger chords, he sometimes resorted to the keyboard in concert.

Here are the Del-Rays, with Raphie on keys, playing a few tunes in the Fullerton style.

"Each arched porch and entry low
Was filled with patient folk and slow,
With whispers hush and shuffling feet
While played the organ loud and sweet
The bells had ceased, the prayers begun
And Bertha had not yet half done
A curious volume, patched and torn,
That all day long, from earliest morn,
Had taken captive her two eyes,
Among its golden 'broideries."

John Keats
